About

Childhood Army Brat. Grown-up ex-Corporate Executive. Currently – writer, scribe, speaker and sometimes — artist. The Lord has told me that life is not about the journey but about the destination; contrary to what we often hear today. To focus on the journey is to focus on ourselves, about how the experiences make us “feel.” Rather, He calls me to keep my eye on Jesus, the truth, salvation and eternal life. fromGraceforGlory is the platform the Lord has given me to do His work. He has given me the gift of hearing His word – which is different from hearing His voice. Rich, authoritative, consistent, constant, loving, gentle – I yearn for silence and the sweet assurance of His word.

fromGraceforGlory Blog is a series of transcriptions: my prayers and the Lord’s response. They are conversations which the Lord has called me to share. Intimate and very personal. Sometimes sharing is excruciating – but in obedience, they are here for you. He has told me that we are all his children and that my pain is no different than yours; that joy is joy and should be shared also; that His word is priceless and it belongs to no one individually. Christ died for us all.

I can not quote ‘chapter and verse’ from the Bible, I am neither a scholar nor have I had any formal training or role in the church. I am me. Just as he made me – ordinary from head to toe – and extraordinary as He has made each of us unique and uniquely qualified to do His work.

My work is to listen … and speak. Seems simple enough. Think about it though … how many good listeners do you know? It’s actually not as easy as it may seem – and at the same time – it is so natural that it feels effortless.

I am humbled by the gift to hear Him – and humbly I share it with you.

My favorite quote: Make time for quiet moments as God whispers and the world is loud. My favorite scripture: Psalms 104:1 May all that I am praise the Lord.

eternal love

(Note, Often the Lord tells me to “Go to the Word.” In obedience, I simply open the Book. He chooses the text, not me. I simply open the Bible and read. Over and over again it feels like a miracle because He leads me to passages keenly consistent with our conversation. Priscilla Shirer, a favorite spiritual speaker, calls those moments the “mercy of confirmation.” I am grateful and praise Him!)

  1. As i was waking up with coffee (using my mouth), listening to the rain (with my ears) and scrolling fb (with my eyes) I came across this post from your sister Maureen. All my morning senses just sank into my heart. God giving me grace to piddle on fb looking for dumb and interesting things to enlighten my morning! While he looks upon me sitting here, yearning to say good morning and move me from grace to glory. He whispers…My Word is a lamp unto your feet not the words on fb! Yet He met me there thru this blog post. He is funny that way. So here I go from grace to glory this morning. Thanks for sharing, it surely set my feet to dancing on a different path. ♡
